Traditional knowledge documentation


HECT Consultancy has been working with the Ministry of Forests and Soil Conservation in the implementation of “Traditional Knowledge and Access and Benefit Sharing Project” in Western Nepal. Together with the Research Center for Applied Science and Technology (RECAST) and GIZ, HECT is building the capacity of the government authorities and indigenous and local communities in documenting traditional and its associated knowledge, prepare community biodiversity register and bio-cultural protocols and form Biodiversity Management Committees (BMCs) in Banke, Kailali, Kanchanpur, Dang, Pyuthan and Surkhet districts of Western Nepal.
